Summer Blues Necklace | A Map of Memory and Coastlines

The Summer Blues Necklace is a story strung in stone—made from memory, coastlines, and collected calm. Featuring Peruvian blue opal rondelles gathered during a gem trip through New Mexico and anchored by a trumpet shell pendant from the California coast, this design captures a moment of movement and meaning.

Each necklace is hand-strung to highlight the oceanic tones of the opals, with the shell grounding the piece in warmth and texture. Light in feel but rooted in ritual, it wears as easily alone as it does layered.

It features three trumpet shells I personally collected in Santa Barbara, CA, each one chosen for its unique texture and form. Two showcase a classic pearlescent white, while the third—dyed in a soft green—adds contrast and energy.

The shells hang from a heavyweight brass collar with oversized links, sourced from a trusted artisan foundry in Brazil. The raw finish of the brass adds structure and warmth, while the shells bring in movement and organic grace.

At the center is a 10mm Indicolite Tourmaline, chosen to pair seamlessly with the 10mm Lilly Ring. It’s flanked by a graduating sequence of stones (9.5mm to 9mm), adding dimension without excess. The result is a cuff that feels minimal, but looks powerfully adorned. Indicolite, a rare blue-to-blue-green variety of tourmaline, is prized for its depth, clarity, and calming color.
